Increasing leadership capacity in the grains industry
The Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) has again invested in the delivery of Resilient Grain Leaders. The second round of this national capacity building program is being delivered to grain growers and industry professionals across each GRDC region from 2015 - 2016.
Participants will improve their leadership capacity which will in turn enhance their skills and confidence to contribute to their business and the grains industry at the next level.
Participants are involved in the following activities:
- Completion of MBTI® (Myers Briggs Type Indicator®) online
Workshop 1 – July 2015 (one workshop per GRDC region)
- Dubbo, NSW (Northern Region)
- Perth, WA (Western Region)
- Mildura, Vic (Southern Region)
- Workshop 2 – 3 - 4 Feb 2016, Adelaide
- Coaching (to support adoption of learning)
A commitment of approximately 5 days (plus travel) over a 12 month period is expected by each participant.

Resilient Grain Leaders was delivered for the first time in 2014. During 2014 after receiving 88 applications, the GRDC Resilient Grain Leaders program developed the skills and capacity of 31 mid-career grain growers, advisors, researchers and other industry professionals.
Workshop 1 was delivered in each GRDC region:
- Northern region: Toowoomba, Qld
- Southern region: Bendigo, Vic
- Western region: Perth, WA
Workshop 2 was held in Adelaide from 18-19 March 2015, and was the final activity for the first group of Resilient Grain Leaders.
