Simon has skills and experience in marketing, finance, and business management, having completed a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Finance at the University of Adelaide. Simon also has experience working in the corporate sector across both treasury and corporate finance. This corporate experience has been balanced with an involvement in his family’s farming business in the Mid North of South Australia which involves broad acre grain production and a livestock enterprise.
While Simon works across the Rural Directions business as an Agribusiness Consultant, the majority of his work involves servicing the Corporate Agribusiness sector as the Program Manager. Services provided to this sector include undertaking feasibility studies, raising capital, conducting agronomic due diligence and preparing property management plans.These services have essentially been designed to provide appropriate governance, maximise investment returns, and increase operational efficiency.
Simon is also heavily involved with the leasing and share farming engagements undertaken by Rural Directions and the corresponding delivery of leasing and share farming Management Training courses. These services have been designed to increase professionalism when engaging in leasing and share farming opportunities, through supporting and respecting the needs of both parties to the underlying arrangement.
Simon is equally passionate about the grain and red meat sectors and enjoys working with clients to help them achieve their goals. Simon also enjoys working with new sources of investment into the agribusiness sector, which he considers essential for the long term success of Australian agriculture.
